Ineka Whiteman
Dr. Ineka Whiteman is Head of Research and Medical Affairs for BDSRA Australia and the BDSRA Foundation, as well as Principal Scientific Consultant for the Beyond Batten Disease Foundation. She leads the US Batten Disease Clinical Centers of Excellence Program and the Batten Disease Global Research Initiative, both of which she played a key role in developing and implementing.
An internationally trained neuroscientist (Oxford University, UK; Colorado State University, USA and Sydney University, Australia), Ineka has an academic research background in the cell and molecular biology of dementia, along with professional experience in government and the biotech industry, where she held senior positions in Medical Affairs.
Passionate about accelerating progress in Batten disease research and care, Ineka focuses on driving scientific and clinical research, improving standards of care, and fostering collaboration among families, researchers, clinicians, industry, government and advocacy groups, to develop effective treatments and improve patient outcomes.
